We offer exceptional General & Cosmetic dentistry!
What’s General Dentistry and what can I expect as a patient?
General dentistry provides the standard services you usually see a dentist to get on a regular basis. These services include:
Preventative Services
Preventative services are all about stopping disease before it can get started in your mouth. These services include regular exams and professional teeth cleanings that are intended to keep your oral health and your teeth in top shape. Our pros will also give you instructions and tips to improve your at-home oral hygiene, and may also recommend preventive treatments such as sealants.
Restorative Services
Restorative services range from things like filling a tooth to restore it to its healthier state, to treatment for trauma, like a broken or knocked-out tooth. We’ll also diagnose and treat the causes of tooth pain or periodontal (gum) disease and offer you solutions to get rid of your pain and restore your comfort. We offer treatments for missing teeth or teeth that need to be removed like implants, crowns or bridgework, and help you get fitted with dentures.
Cosmetic Procedures
Our dedicated dental professionals will help you get the sparkling smile you’ve always wanted with a range of cosmetic procedures. These include teeth whitening, straightening with technology like Invisalign® and porcelain veneers. If a brighter, more confident smile is what you’re looking for, ask about a smile makeover with us!
Overall Health Concerns
Your oral health directly affects your overall well-being, and that’s why it’s so important to find a dental home you like and trust. Untreated oral infections can lead to poorer control of diabetes, an increased incidence of cardiovascular disease, and complications during pregnancy. One special concern affecting a lot of people (often without them even knowing it) is obstructive sleep apnea, a potentially deadly condition that can usually be treated with an oral appliance. If you’re tired all the time, but don’t know why, let’s get you assessed for sleep apnea and fix that easily!
What’s Cosmetic Dentistry and can it really give me a movie-star smile?
Great dental care can not only improve your overall health, it can give a smile you can’t wait to show off. A smile makeover is the one thing you can do to completely change your facial appearance for the better while making yourself feel like a million!
Veneers
Porcelain laminate veneers consist of a compilation of several thin ceramic layers which replace original tooth enamel, and an adhesive layer that fixes these toppers to your teeth. To apply a veneer, a very small amount of the original tooth enamel must be removed, usually less than a millimeter. This is essential as it creates room for the porcelain veneer to fit within the mouth and most accurately restore natural tooth function while creating an even better appearance than the original tooth. Speaking of movie stars, this is the secret to many of their brilliant smiles.
Whitening
Most teeth can be whitened (some call it bleaching) and there are a number of ways to go about it. External tooth whitening happens when vital teeth are bleached by direct contact with a safe and commonly used whitening agent, either in a dental office or at home. Professional tooth whitening in a dental office is the preferred method because even though stronger agents are applied, the rest of the mouth, including the gums, is protected from these materials. This is extremely effective and can transform your teeth in a single office visit. These treatments are a great jump-start for take-home whitening, which is always part of an effective whitening program.
Implants
The key benefit of dental implants over other tooth replacement systems, like dentures, is that an implant connects directly to the jawbone. These implants function just like natural teeth when it comes to eating and maintaining the shape of your mouth. If you’ve lost a tooth, you may lose some of the bone that surrounded it because that bone lacks the stimulation of the tooth’s roots to keep it going. You may need some bone build-up, but that’s not difficult and you’ll soon be ready for a natural-looking and acting implant.
Dentures
You may be aware that there are issues with some forms of traditional dentures, but there have been modern advances in dentures, as there have been in many other areas of dental healthcare, and an overdenture retained by implants may be an option. Overdentures are a combination of traditional dentures and the newer science of dental implants to prevent bone loss that could result from dentures alone.
Tooth-colored fillings
It used to be that when you had a cavity that needed a filling, your tooth was filled with a mixture of different metals. Today that is changing as more natural-looking and metal-free dental fillings are becoming the preferred approach. You can get more tooth-like, realistic-looking materials (composite resins and porcelains) that are safe, predictable and look natural.
Orthodontics
Orthodontics are concerned with the position of your teeth, what has caused them to arrive at their current position, and what may be needed so that your bite is fully functional while looking straight and fantastic. Our professionals offer Invisalign®, an invisible aligner that can be removed for brushing, flossing and eating and still offers you a fast, comfortable way to straighten your smile.
